Gaia’s Pantry

Typology: Immersive Restaurant & Dining Experience

Location: Walton St, Syracuse, NY

Key Features: VR digital booth panels, centralized open kitchen, sunlight analysis, custom casework bar design

Objective: To redefine the dining experience through sensory immersion and interactive culinary engagement, while honoring Syracuse's architectural heritage

Gaia's Pantry is a restaurant concept born from a sophomore studio challenge: take a real site in downtown Syracuse and reimagine it across three budget tiers, from simple to grand.

The design centers on immersive dining, pairing VR digital booth panels and an interactive open kitchen with a material palette rooted in Syracuse's architectural history. A central skylight floods the space with natural light and spotlights the kitchen as the heart of the experience. Custom casework, glass spatial dividers, and deliberate material choices ground a forward-looking concept in something familiar and human.
