Printmaking

Printmaking taught me that repetition is not redundancy. Every pull of the press is a conversation between the plate, the ink, and the paper, and no two prints are ever exactly the same.

In the fall of 2025 I took a printmaking course at Syracuse University that introduced me to the fundamentals of making images by hand, one layer at a time.

I explored three distinct methodologies:

  • copper etching

  • hand-carved woodcuts

  • screen printing

  • Japanese-influenced techniques

    • involved layering origami elements directly into the final print using the press.
